We are proud to announce that all the senior residents are graduating with a job in hand. They will start seeing patients on day 1. Fortunately or unfortunately, they have not much break after residency.
A senior resident Jonathan Lorenzana, PGYIII did not like the way the other senior resident, Lanster Martin PGYII, walked in his rocker shoe. Martin calmly replied, "I'm your huckleberry". Other residents did not even attempt to stop the fight while Colin Graney, PGYII (second from left) had no interest at all. According to a source, who wishes to be unidentified, Lorenzana was always checking Martin's gait from behind last three years.
A SW resident reunion took place in Vegas during the ACFAS ASC. A SW graduate Colbi Frost, now practices in Utah, asked the current residents, "Why are there only two posters at the ASC from our program this year? When I was a resident....", he continued. The current PGYI, John Yuhas, exceeded everyone's expectation on his ability to pick a good restaurant for the reunion. One resident, wishes to be unnamed, later indicated that he thought he was going to end up at TGIFriday's. Andy Evans, now practices at Fort Hood, stayed in a resident's hotel room to save money after the dinner.
Thanks to Stryker in supporting resident surgeons! New lab is now fully functional at SLAB. Residents have the whole access to the dry lab anytime they want to hone their skills.
